Saturday started early and bright, but it quickly turned into one of those days where every minute counted. Leaving the house at 7:30 am, the day was packed with errands, sales, and family teamwork. The main event was selling chicken street tacos at Snowbird Farm Cidery, where the energy was high and the hours flew by. Here’s a detailed look at how the day unfolded, the challenges faced, and the support that made it all possible.

Early Morning Preparations and Propane Pickup

The day kicked off with a quick stop to pick up propane needed for the event at Snowbird Farm Cidery. This was a crucial step because the propane fueled the cooking equipment for the chicken tacos. Timing was tight, so getting this done early ensured the setup could start smoothly.

After picking up the propane, the focus shifted to the farm cidery where the event ran from 11 am to 5 pm. The goal was clear: sell as many chicken street tacos as possible. The preparation and logistics were key to making this happen.

Setting Up with Help from Family and Friends

Setting up a food stall can be overwhelming, especially when there’s a lot to organize. Thankfully, Garret stepped in to help. His promise to be ready before Davina arrived meant the setup went faster and more efficiently. Having someone reliable who cares made a big difference.

Meanwhile, the truck swap with Mom was another smart move. She drove the truck to Monte so the vehicles could be exchanged, allowing all the supplies to fit comfortably back into the truck instead of the van. This small logistical detail helped keep the day running smoothly.

The Rush of Sales and Limited Breaks

Once the event started, it was non-stop. Selling 80 pounds of chicken in one day is no small feat. The demand for chicken street tacos was high, and the team was busy from start to finish. Despite buying a protein box and a cold brew from Starbucks, there was barely time to eat. Sitting for a total of 30 minutes in 5-minute increments shows just how hectic the day was.

Family Support Makes a Difference

The day’s success wasn’t just about selling chicken. It was about the people who helped make it possible. Emma, the niece, pitched in by helping with customers, alongside Mom and Sister. Their combined effort kept the stall running smoothly even during the busiest moments.

This kind of family support is invaluable. It’s not just about sharing the workload but also about creating a positive environment where everyone feels involved and appreciated.

Wrapping Up and Well-Deserved Rest

After a long day of selling and serving, the team was ready for a break. Dinner at Mazatlan with Rosie was the perfect way to unwind. Splitting the bill was a nice gesture after such a demanding day.

The exhaustion was real, but so was the satisfaction. Selling 80 pounds of chicken and managing a busy event with family help showed what can be achieved with teamwork and determination.
