Waking up at 5 a.m. on a Friday might sound tough, but when the day ahead promises a mix of treasure hunting, tasty food, and lively sports, it’s worth every early minute. This day was a refreshing break, a chance to reconnect and enjoy simple pleasures with a good friend. From digging through bins at Goodwill to cheering at a T-ball game, the day was packed with moments that brought laughter, new finds, and a little self-care.

Early Morning Start and Goodwill Bins Adventure
The day began with an early start, leaving the house by 6 a.m. to meet Lara. It had been a long time since the two had a day just for themselves, and the excitement was palpable. Their first stop was the Vancouver Goodwill bins, a treasure trove for anyone who loves thrifting. These bins offer a unique shopping experience where clothes and items are sold by weight, encouraging a hunt for hidden gems.
The thrill of the hunt was real. Both found some great pieces, including a little jacket perfect for pairing with jumpsuits. This kind of shopping is not just about saving money but about finding unique items that add personality to a wardrobe. After the bins, they headed to the Portland airport Goodwill, which offered a different selection but just as much fun.
Lunch at a Cozy Pub
After the morning of shopping, it was time to refuel. They found a cute little pub that served delicious food in a cozy setting. The menu had some interesting options, and the choices reflected their tastes perfectly. One enjoyed tri-tip tacos, a flavorful and satisfying choice, while Lara opted for a BBQ chicken salad, light but filling.
This lunch break was more than just about food. It was a moment to relax, chat, and enjoy the company. The atmosphere of the pub added to the experience, making it a memorable part of the day.

Shopping for Self-Care and Style
The day wasn’t just about fun and food; it also included some important self-care. A visit to Lane Bryant resulted in a couple of new bras, a significant win since the fit was now better with a smaller cup size and back size. Properly fitting bras can make a big difference in comfort and confidence, and this update was a small but meaningful achievement.
The new jacket found earlier was complemented by a stop at Maurices, where the perfect piece was picked up to complete the look. There was also anticipation for a new bra from MissesKisses arriving soon, just in time for a trip to San Francisco at the end of the month. These shopping stops were about feeling good and preparing for upcoming adventures.
Back to the Bins and T-Ball Fun
After the shopping spree, the duo returned to the bins for more treasure hunting. The second round proved just as fruitful, with more great finds adding to the day’s haul. This kind of shopping is not only economical but also sustainable, giving clothes a second life.
The afternoon shifted gears with a visit to Harper’s T-ball game. Watching the little ones run the bases brought plenty of laughs and joy. The innocence and enthusiasm of children playing sports is contagious, and it was a perfect way to wind down after a busy day.

Wrapping Up the Day
On the way out of Olympia, a quick stop at MOD Pizza provided a tasty end to the day’s adventures. Then it was time to visit grandma and take a tirzepatide shot, a reminder of the ongoing journey of health and wellness.
Returning home brought comfort—seeing the dogs, spending time with mom, and finally sleeping in a familiar bed. The day was full but rewarding. One downside was the heavy pollen, which caused itchy eyes and a sore voice, a small price for such a fulfilling day.
