Friday brought a mix of excitement and a few unexpected challenges as the weekend approached. With an event planned, preparations were in full swing, but not without some bumps along the way. From truck troubles to family moments and tasty meals, the day was a blend of practical tasks and simple joys. Here’s a look at how the day unfolded and what made it memorable.

Preparing for the Weekend Event

The day started with a clear goal: get the truck ready for the weekend event. This meant putting the vehicle together and picking up some necessary items. Having a reliable truck is crucial for transporting gear and supplies, so the focus was on making sure everything was in working order.

Unfortunately, when it was time to leave around 4 pm, the truck refused to start. This was a stressful moment, but it turned out that a part Mitch had recently replaced had failed. Thankfully, swapping back to the old part solved the problem, and the truck was up and running again. This quick fix was a relief and a reminder to always have backup plans when dealing with vehicles.

Family Time and Relaxation

After the truck issue was resolved, the evening shifted to a more relaxed pace. Dinner was a comforting meal of ribs and sides, prepared with care. Sharing this meal with family added warmth to the day, especially after the earlier stress.

Earlier in the day, there was also time spent with Mom watching a show called On Campus. It was a new series they started together and found enjoyable. Watching shows like this offers a chance to unwind and connect over shared interests.

Food and Fuel for the Day

Meals played an important role in keeping energy up throughout the busy day. Breakfast was a bacon-and-egg sandwich made with 30-calorie bread, a simple but satisfying start. Snacks included mini cucumbers, peppers, roast beef, and mozzarella balls, providing a mix of fresh and protein-rich options.

Dinner featured ribs and macaroni salad, a hearty combination that fit the mood of the evening. These meals not only fueled the day but also brought comfort and enjoyment, especially when shared with family.

Planning and Community Involvement

Beyond personal preparations, there was also a conversation with Hollie about helping with the high school baccalaureate. This shows a commitment to community and supporting important local events. Being involved in such activities adds meaning to the weekend and strengthens connections with others.

Looking Ahead to the Big Day

With the truck ready, meals enjoyed, and plans in place, the focus now turns to the big day ahead. Early rest was a priority to ensure energy and readiness for the event. The combination of practical work, family moments, and community involvement made Friday a full and rewarding day.

This weekend promises adventure and meaningful experiences. Taking time to prepare carefully, enjoy simple pleasures, and connect with loved ones sets a positive tone for what’s to come.
