Busy days can feel overwhelming when you have to juggle homework, family events, and personal appointments. Today was one of those days where everything seemed to happen at once. I had to finish an important assignment, celebrate my grandma’s birthday, and prepare for upcoming appointments. On top of that, I’m planning a pop-up event to raise money for a trip. Managing all these tasks while keeping my peace of mind took some effort, but I learned a lot about balancing responsibilities and self-care.

Getting Homework Done Amidst the Chaos
Monday is my designated homework day, and today I had a big assignment to finish. It wasn’t easy to focus with everything else going on, but I set clear goals and stuck to them. Breaking the assignment into smaller parts helped me avoid feeling overwhelmed. After a few hours of steady work, I completed the task and turned it in on time. This sense of accomplishment gave me the energy to handle the rest of the day.
Celebrating Grandma’s Birthday
Today was also my grandma’s actual birthday, May 18th. She received many calls and cards, which made her day special. Family moments like these remind me how important it is to pause and celebrate the people we love. Even though I was busy, I made sure to take time to connect with her and share in the joy. These moments add meaning to busy days and help me stay grounded.
Preparing for Self-Care Appointments
Tomorrow is my big day for self-care. I have a waxing appointment and a teeth whitening session scheduled. These appointments are more than just beauty routines; they are ways I recharge and feel confident. Taking time for myself is essential, especially when life gets hectic. I’m looking forward to these moments of relaxation and renewal.
Planning a Pop-Up Event for Extra Income
On Saturday, I will be hosting a pop-up event in Amanda Park, where I will be selling chicken street tacos. This is my way of earning some extra money for my upcoming trip to California. While my partner will pamper me, I value having my own income. Running this pop-up is a chance to practice independence and build my confidence in managing a small business.
Setting Boundaries with Family
Not all family interactions are easy. I haven’t been very happy with my aunt lately. She often acts like the victim and claims she takes care of my grandma, but that’s not the case. She wanted to come with me to Tacoma, but I decided it was my self-care day, and she would not be part of it. Setting boundaries is crucial for protecting my well-being. I won’t let anyone ruin my plans for rest and self-care.
Finding Balance in a Busy Life
Balancing homework, family celebrations, self-care, and work projects is challenging but possible. Here are some tips I found helpful:
Prioritize tasks by importance and deadlines
Break big tasks into smaller steps to avoid overwhelm
Make time for family connections without losing focus on your goals
Schedule self-care appointments as non-negotiable commitments
Set clear boundaries with people who drain your energy
Plan side projects that support your financial independence
