Saturday brought a lively mix of food, friends, and thoughtful planning in Amanda Park. Five of us gathered to vend our goods, turning the day into a shared experience of community and creativity. Among the offerings were my Chicken street tacos and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, which added a delicious touch to the event. This post shares the highlights of that day, the choices made to keep expenses low, and a few personal moments that made the weekend memorable.

Setting Up and Teamwork
The day started with some teamwork. Mitch helped my mom and me set up our vending spot. I asked my mom to relax and enjoy the day while Mitch and I arranged everything. Mitch knows exactly how I want the setup, which made the process smoother and less stressful. Having a clear plan and good helpers made a big difference in getting ready quickly and efficiently.
Sharing the Space with Friends
It was great to see that a couple of other friends also planned to vend in Amanda Park that day. With five of us selling, the space felt lively and supportive. We shared tips, encouraged each other, and enjoyed the energy of a small community market. This kind of collaboration makes vending more fun and less isolating.
Food Highlights: Chicken Street Tacos and Carrot Cake
My Chicken street tacos were a hit, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that drew in customers. The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was another favorite, offering a sweet finish to the savory options. These dishes reflect a balance of comfort and creativity, perfect for a weekend market setting.
Budgeting for Upcoming Trips
While I had planned to go camping at Lara's, I decided to save money instead. Gas prices are high, and I want to be mindful of expenses since I will be traveling to San Francisco once a month to see my partner. This choice shows how budgeting can help prioritize important trips without overspending on extras.
Preparing for the Week Ahead
I leave for my trip on Wednesday night and will stay near the Seattle airport. Before then, I want to get a mani and pedi to feel refreshed. I'm considering acrylic nails but think a regular mani and pedi might be better for now. If you have experience with acrylic nails, I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether they are worth it.
A Simple Dinner and Looking Forward
After a busy day, I made dinner for my mom and me: chicken, baked potatoes, and spinach. It was a wholesome meal that matched the day’s simple pleasures. Tomorrow is church, a chance to rest and recharge before the week begins.
