Saturday brought a busy and rewarding day at the cidery with a special Easter event that combined fun activities and delicious food. The sensory egg hunt kicked off the morning at 11:30 am, followed by the regular egg hunt, both of which brought smiles and excitement to participants of all ages. The event was a big success for Country Mama's Kitchen, especially since we sold out of tacos and even landed a catering gig from the crowd. Alongside the event recap, I’m sharing a glimpse into my food journal, which includes my experience with trizepatide, a medication that affected my appetite throughout the day.
Highlights from the Easter Event at the Cidery
The sensory egg hunt was a unique twist that engaged attendees in a fun and interactive way. It encouraged participants to use their senses beyond just sight, making the hunt more memorable and inclusive. After that, the regular egg hunt brought the traditional excitement everyone loves, with kids and adults alike searching for colorful eggs hidden around the cidery grounds.
One of the best parts of the day was the food. Country Mama's Kitchen prepared a variety of dishes, but the tacos were the star. We sold out completely, which was a fantastic sign of how much everyone enjoyed the food. The positive feedback and the busy crowd led to an unexpected bonus: a catering gig booked on the spot. This opportunity will help grow the kitchen’s presence and bring more delicious meals to future events.
My Food Journal and Trizepatide Experience
On the day of the event, I took my first shot of trizepatide at a 5mg dose. This medication is known to reduce appetite, and I noticed its effects immediately. I wasn’t hungry all day, which was unusual for me, especially during such a busy event. I started the morning with a cold brew coffee, which gave me some energy, but I only ate dinner at KFC, consisting of three chicken strips. That was the extent of my food intake for the entire day.
While I know I should have eaten more to keep my energy up, the event kept me occupied and distracted from hunger. The appetite suppression from trizepatide was strong, and it’s something I’m still adjusting to. For anyone considering this medication, it’s important to monitor your nutrition and make sure you’re getting enough food, especially on busy days.
Lessons Learned and Moving Forward
This event showed how combining community activities with great food can create a successful experience for everyone involved. The sensory egg hunt added a fresh element that made the event stand out, and the sold-out tacos proved that good food always draws a crowd. The unexpected catering gig is a reminder that opportunities often come when you least expect them.
On a personal level, managing my food intake while on trizepatide is a new challenge. The medication’s appetite-suppressing effects are noticeable, and balancing that with my daily activities will require planning. I’m learning to listen to my body and make sure I don’t neglect proper nutrition, even when I’m busy or not feeling hungry.
If you’re hosting an event or trying a new medication that affects appetite, remember to stay flexible and keep your health a priority. Celebrate your wins, like selling out your food or booking new gigs, but also take time to care for yourself.
